Info

A pocket-sized USB-C PD trigger. Plug in any USB-C PD-capable charger, get the voltage you want out the screw terminal. CH224K does the negotiation; a strap resistor selects the PDO (5/9/12/15/20V).

Useful for: powering 12V LED strips off a laptop charger, running 9V guitar pedals from a USB-C battery bank, and anything else that needs more than 5V from a USB-C source.

Specification
Trigger IC TR-01 CH224K SOP-8, USB-C PD 3.0 sink, supports 5/9/12/15/20V
Default voltage VS-01 12V CFG2 strap to GND via 4.7k. Change R3 value to select other PDOs.
Connector CN-01 USB-C 16-pin HRO TYPE-C-31-M-12 — power + CC only, no data
Output OT-01 2-pin screw terminal VBUS + GND. Up to 5A on 20V PDO with thick traces.

Features
PD-F1
Tiny + cheap
9 components, all 0402/SOP-8/THT screw terminal. Fab cost ~$5 for qty 5 at JLCPCB.
PD-F2
Strap-configurable
Change one resistor (R3) to change the PDO voltage. CFG strap table on the silk.
PD-F3
PG indicator
Green LED on the PG output — lights when the PD negotiation succeeds and VBUS is at the requested voltage.
